ಧೇನುವಾಟಿಕಾ ಗೋಶಾಲೆ, ಶೃಂಗೇರಿ

ಸನಾತನ ಧರ್ಮಾವಲಂಬಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಗೋವುಗಳು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪೂಜನೀಯವಾದವು. ಅಂತಹ ಗೋವುಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಾಮ್ನಾಯ ಶೃಂಗೇರಿ ಶಾರದಾ ಪೀಠವು ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಕಟಿಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪೀಠದ ೩೫ನೇ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಪರಮಪೂಜ್ಯ ಜಗದ್ಗುರು ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಭಿನವ ವಿದ್ಯಾತೀರ್ಥ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳವರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಧೇನುವಾಟಿಕಾ’ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ೩೬ನೇ ಜಗದ್ಗುರು ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಭಾರತೀತೀರ್ಥ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳವರ ಆದೇಶದಂತೆ ಈಗಲೂ ಸಹ ಈ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

‘ಗಾವೋ ವಿಶ್ವಸ್ಯ ಮಾತರಃ’ (ಗೋವುಗಳು ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ತಾಯಿಯಂತೆ) ಎಂಬ ವಚನವನ್ನು ಪರಿಪಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಗೋಮಾತೆಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ, ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಲನೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ ಗೋವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಕುವದಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪವಿತ್ರತೆ, ದಯೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವತ್ವದ ಸ್ವರೂಪಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವ

ಧೇನುವಾಟಿಕಾ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅತಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿದೆ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ:

ಈ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಶೃಂಗೇರಿ ಶಾರದಾ ಪೀಠವು ಧರ್ಮ, ಪರಂಪರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಸರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ಗೋವಿನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Dhenuvatika Goshala, Sringeri

For followers of Sanātana Dharma, cows are considered supremely sacred. The Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham has always been committed to the protection of such revered cows. During the period of the 35th Acharya, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji, a goshala (cow shelter) was established under the name “Dhenuvatika.” Even today, under the instructions of the 36th Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, this goshala is being further developed in a special manner.

Following the dictum “Gāvo viśvasya mātaraḥ” (Cows are verily the mothers of the world), the goshala is engaged in the proper protection, care, and nurturing of Gomata. Here, cows are not merely reared, but are revered and worshipped as embodiments of purity, compassion, and divinity.
